 * Hello, my client has been using this plugin for a while but it seems after some
   of the updates with WordPress, etc., she is now getting the HTTP Error when uploading
   images. She is a photographer. I have performed all recommended troubleshooting
   and found that when this plugin is activated, we get the HTTP error. When it
   is deactivated, images upload as expected. We will leave it deactivated and I
   will watch the support threads to see when this might be resolved.
 * P.S.: I will watch this thread as well – [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/http-error-when-uploading-images-if-ewww-image-optimizer-is-enabled?replies=14](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/http-error-when-uploading-images-if-ewww-image-optimizer-is-enabled?replies=14).
   I know forum moderators hate when you post your issue onto someone elses issue.
   That’s why I created a new one.

 * An http error could mean hundreds of different things.
 * At any rate, if you haven’t already, please see if disabling parallel optimization
   makes any difference.
 * If that does not help, check with the webhost to see if there is anything in
   the error logs, since it is entirely possible that your issue is not the same
   as the one you linked to. EWWW 2.9.x is currently running on over 100,000 sites
   with no such problems, so I want to try and root out any remaining conflicts.

 * I checked the error logs before I posted and there were only two lines which
   were the two images we were trying to upload. I understand that your plugin is
   running on over 100,000 sites. But I disabled everything, even switched themes
   to default and when reactivating this one plugin – I got the http error. I appreciate
   your response but we will just leave it deactivated for now. Thank you.

 * Please post the two lines then, that’s a start. But I suspect you haven’t actually
   checked the right log file. Every server has an access log (which you would see
   when you try to upload an image, successful or not), and an error log which only
   records when a problem occurs.

 * Well, you suspected incorrectly and it’s really not nice to be insulting. I do
   know what I am doing. Here is a screen shot of the two errors which show your
   plugin in the URL.

 * I’ve read the information on here – namely, items #3 & #4 –
 * [https://wordpress.org/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/)
 * …however… this plugin has been on this website for a year and has never had an
   issue until the recent update on July 10th after the vulnerability was found
   in the plugin. So it’s been since that update that she’s had the issue. Again,
   we will just leave it deactivated since things are working now. Thank you for
   your time.

 * Wasn’t trying to be insulting, just that nearly every time I ask someone to check
   the error logs, they don’t. That, and I was a bit confused as to why you would
   dismiss the errors without sharing them.
