# https – cart items disappear

 * My site is set to change to https on checkout. I don’t have the whole site that
   way because I think it is faster adding to cart without the added security (and
   that’s standard practice). However, this creates problems for me when I am logged
   in, and I’m wondering if it will cause problems for non-admin’s as well who return
   to place another order.
 * To reproduce the problem:
    1. Sign in to my account 2. Visit [http://publicacionespescadores.com/libreria](http://publicacionespescadores.com/libreria)
   3. Add item to cart 4. View cart 5. Complete order 6. Visit [https://publicacionespescadores.com/carrito](https://publicacionespescadores.com/carrito)
   7. The cart will be empty and it will appear that I am signed out of my account.
 * I’m wondering if this will be a problem for normal users who sign in to my site.
   Is there a way to keep the sign-in and cart contents during the switch from http
   to https?

 * When you complete an order, your cart becomes empty so everything’s fine here.
   If you have something in your cart and are at the http and you switch to https,
   the cart’s contents will remain in it.
    I’d like to check the sign-in / sign-
   out issue but I need to know the login credentials. Could you please send them

 * I can confirm that the cart retains the same contents until logging in and returning
   to the cart page, so it seems the difference is due to login. It appears that
   logging in reverts to what the cart was the last time I logged in. If I log out,
   the cart reverts back to what it was before I logged in. Not a big deal I guess,
   but gets confusing when trying to test.

 * Hello,
 * I have just had a check and it’s a normal behaviour. A guest customer is another
   session, other than the same person logged in. In Jigoshop Settings -> General
   you can decide if you want to allow guest purchases. If allowed, guests can put
   items to cart and then on checkout they just have to fill in their billing/shipping
   details. If you disable guest purchases, guests can still put items to cart but
   on checkout they will be asked to either login or register an account if they
   don’t have one yet. I hope it was helpful.
