 * I’m an admin helping with a website update (my bid was for an entirely different
website platform, was changed to wordpress after I won the bid.). The current
site is temporary and I noticed it was http. Using some (VERY BAD) advice on
a website, changed to https. It immediately blocked me out. I backed out and
changed it back. It logged me out and I can’t access the site at all. I’m not
the main owner, I’m an admin with full access. I don’t have the ftp address and
we currently don’t have a host. The former site is in the process of being changed
over to a new host and to their own account. I can’t even access the login page(
also 404) and other routes don’t seem to recognize my new login password. HELP!
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fhttps-change-on-temporary-site-cant-access-404%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * If you cannot reach the wp-login.php file you will need FTP access to correct
whatever is wrong. To fix other problems it may be useful to have access to phpMyAdmin
as well, but with FTP access you can indirectly access the DB through PHP code.
 * If you still have password issues, see [Resetting Your Password](https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/)
for possible solutions. You’ll see you need FTP or some sort of privileged access
for any of the measures. As it stands it sounds like you have no privileged access
   at all.

 * We were able to fix it through Bluehost. The tech informed me that temp websites
automatically have http addresses and this is changed once the website is migrated
or activated. Hence why it caused the problems it did. There should be better
ways to resolve the problem considering the number of half-informed tutorials
floating around the internet for this. Neither myself or the main administrator
was able to log into the WP account to change the settings after it shut us out.
