 * Hi Guys
 * I have an issue with a hacker continually trying to guess my passwords for my
   site… I use a very difficult to guess password, but its easy for the hacker to
   find my user name as they simply type [http://www.example.com/?author=1](http://www.example.com/?author=1)
   and its results in a user name to use…
 * Have you got anything in your security system to stop this?!

 * Yes. We have this Bonus Custom Code here: [http://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/wordpress-author-enumeration-bot-probe-protection-author-id-user-id/](http://forum.ait-pro.com/forums/topic/wordpress-author-enumeration-bot-probe-protection-author-id-user-id/)
 * Note: This code does not work on a WordPress GWIOD (Giving WordPress Its Own
   Directory) website. That issue is being looked into and will be figured out soon.

   > Custom Code. GWIOD site types have 3 htaccess files. 1 Site Root htaccess file,
   > 1 WordPress installation folder htaccess file (BPS Root htaccess file) and
   > a BPS wp-admin htaccess file.
 * I had a minute to look at why the code was not working on a GWIOD site type.
   The simple solution is above.

 * Thank you a MILLION… that has done the trick… 🙂
 * Now find a bit of code to send a heat seeking missile to the Hacker continually
   trying to break in to my sites… :-p

 * If only it were that simple. hackers use victim websites that they have already
   hacked to attack other websites. 😉
