 * When I create hyperlinks, can I just use the regular HTML code, such as [Sample Page](http://www.sample.com)
 * Or do I have to add other ID and title tags, such as
    [Sample Page](http://www.sample.com)
 * I haven’t been doing the latter, but I haven’t noticed any problem with the display.

 * Ummm, unless you own sample.com, those links aren’t really showing anything.
 * If you redo that with the code in “backticks”[1][2], we’ll be able to see what
   you mean.
 * [1] On my (UK) keyboard, that’s to the left of 1 and above Tab. I think it may
be in the vicinity of ~ on other layouts.
[2] And I **still** think asking people
to mark code with a key most people haven’t heard of isn’t the best idea…

 * To answer the question, yes, the former is fine (and still considered valid)
   for old fashioned text links.
 * On LB’s [2]: A partial agreement, but on a board where people are constantly
posting code fragments, you try to come up with a little-used key that can act
   as a raw code marker.

 * The word “code” in square brackets would be more readily understandable by people
   in general.
 * Or maybe just moving the instructions **above** the post textarea?

 * Oops, I didn’t realize that my html code would be converted into the real thing.
   I meant to write [a href=”sample.com”]Sample [/a]

 * Thanks for your response.
