# Hyperlink not working

 * Hello,
 * When writing a post I cannot get the Hyperlink button to work from the editor(
   getting the following code: <‘a href=”XYZ”>X</a’>.
 * The rest of the buttons work fine, so why not hyperlink?
 * Hope somebody can help me.

 * Type the text you want to make into a link
    Highlight the text Click add link
   button Paste or write the URL for the link into the pop-up Click Add Link

 * That looks fine to me. You’re looking at the “text” tab, aren’t you?

 * I am thinking of the editor bar, just like the one in top of this post. I prefer
   being able to highlight the text I want to make into a hyperlink, just like making
   text bold.

 * If the pop-up is not working, try deactivating all plugins and switching to the
   twentytwelve theme.
