You can change email address in footer by the following steps:
1. Go to Appearance > Editor
2. Click on footer.php (labelled as Theme Footer). This will open the following file in the editor:
/wp-admin/theme-editor.php?file=footer.php&theme=zerif-lite
3. Search for the text “[email protected]” (this is the email address in your footer right now)
4. Change to whatever you want
5. Update
Refresh the site. The email should be updated now.

I’ve tried this once and again with no result. It’s strange, because I could do it before, but now, when I update, there is no change.
Then I would suggest you to the following:
1. Deactivate all your plugins and see if if your changes in the footer appears
2. If yes, then start activating the plugins one by one and check which particular plugin is the culprit!
3. If no, uninstall the theme and install it again.
