Image caption not centering

I came across an issue in Block editor with image captions. I checked the forums and this describes similar issues: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/image-caption-poorly-placed-on-page-gutenberg-annoyance/

Basically, if I place an image in a block (with image center aligned) and enter a caption, the caption is left aligned, but also not on a single line (it is multiline).

If I have that same image in another block with “full width” alignment and enter a caption, it is properly centered with no multiline (re)formatting.
