# image permalink error

 * As soon as I attach an image to a post, the permalink changes from my site’s 
   set permalink structure (ex. almondmilk.jpg = [https://websitename.com/almond-milk](https://websitename.com/almond-milk))
   to one ending in “? attachment id”. What would cause this to happen?
 * Also, once it changes, the image permalink edit button also disappears so I am
   not able to correct it.

 * Check your permalinks under settings.
    This could have been set for “Plain” default.
