Hello Friend, I have the following error…
[29-Mar-2020 06:00:55 UTC] PHP Notice: Trying to get property ‘ID’ of non-object in /home/********/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-next-post-navi/wp-next-post-navi.php on line 73

Also seeing this on the front end…
This is a new post so there is no “NEXT POST” image to display

I am sorry for the errors.

I have updated the plugin. Please update and let me know if it’s working well now.

    Thanks.

Updated: No new php error but I still have the same image problem as described above.
What I find strange is when I look at the very first post ever created on my site, the NEXT image is there (as expected) and no issue with an image placeholder for PREV image. I’m no coder but this is making me think it may be some conflict with the latest release of WordPress. Also: I noticed this morning that my CPU usage is going crazy. I am going to deactivate WPNPNavi until I can find the cause. Thanks for looking into this. Respectfully.

I have tested the plugin on a few blogs that I operate and it works totally fine.

What I suggest is check the image url to make sure it is pointing to an image. If not then it will cause an error like that.

I did just that before asking support. I also deleted the two images I used previous and replaced them with new images. Plus, when I navigate to other post that do have a previous and next post, the images displayed fine. It may be some conflict within my setup…I tried using the plugin WP Rollback to try a previous version of your plugin but it says your plugin does not contain anything “to latch onto” to rollback to previous versions. I am currently using your plugin without my own images but in a perfect world using my own images it preferred. Again thanks for your time!

Just updated to 1.8.1 images working fine now!
    Marked as resolved is warranted
Will monitor errorlogs and open new ticket if needs be. Again much thanks!
