# Image size problems

 * You’d think Woocommerce would have this figured out by now. I’ve come across 
   this problem with several different themes (Woocommerce compatible and not) and
   there’s no real help in the Woocommerce Support forum or knowledge base. They
   do have instructions on setting your product image size (resolution) to match
   that of your theme—but there is no information or accommodation for changing 
   the size of the product feature image as it displays on the single product page.
 * The css is set to width: 100% height: auto —which will work fine if you plan 
   ahead and use images for products set to be the size you want them to show up
   as.
 * The confusion starts when your product image is much larger than what you want
   it to display at and you expect the plugin (or your theme) to resize it automatically—
   not to mention responsively.
 * So be forewarned, when you choose product image make sure the image’s full size
   is the size you want it to display at on your product page. This goes for “Related
   Products” images also. You might expect these RP images to be a thumbnail size
   but they’re not —they also get displayed at 100% full size. Maybe I missed this
   information in the store setup instructions but I don’t remember seeing anything
   like it mentioned. You’d think a FAQ on the subject would be readily available
   but it’s not. There’s a ton of support requests all over the WP.org and WooCom
   forums without competent answers.
 * Seems like a better, more professional solution would be to build into the plugin
   the ability to adjust the displayed feature image size on the product page within
   the woocommerce admin panel.
 * As ubiquitously used as WooCom is, I’d expect better support (free support). 
   That’s the only peeve I have with the plugin, it is otherwise excellent in its
   function and features.

 * Actually, it’s worse than I described.
 * I created dedicated product images of the exact size I wanted them to be (400px
   width) which also was the setting in WooCom Settings > Products > Display > Product
   > Single Product Image size so I would get the resolution right and the size 
   I wanted them to display at. To no avail. They still came out at 499px width.
 * I went into the CSS files (woocommerce-layout.css & woocommerce.css) and adjusted
   the width settings to 400px and that didn’t change it either. There’s something
   overriding these settings…and I don’t have the CSS, theme, or plugin, knowledge
   to hunt it down.
 * Geez, how hard can it be to build into the plugin an image resizing feature????
   Exasperating!

 * OK, I figured it out and I’m going to eat some crow here. After messing with 
   the CSS and all, it turns out that the Catch Responsive theme I’m using is a “
   non-WC compatible theme.”
