checked again and the permissions made it work. For anyone else reading this I am hosted on godaddy shared hosting and have had previous issues that the server isn’t considered owner on the files and folders. Called them up and they told me they can’t change that

I am also using GoDaddy and I am having this issue.

Can you please specify what file you updated the permissions on?

    Thank you.

change permissions on gallery folder under wp-content

Sadly that didn’t work for me. Is there anything to refresh or reload after?

sorry, not that I know of. By the way I changed the permissions with an ftp client and it tooks a few minutes to work.

    good luck!!

    This worked for me…

If you’re using default permalinks, please try going to Settings > Permalinks and choosing another option.

    Thanks.

I can’t believe I’m posting this but I went to permalinks settings and re-set to the Post name option and it corrected the problem for me immediately. I can now upload images – no problems, no errors. After hours of searching – go figure! It would help if someone from nextGen would acknowledge this problem and provide this quick fix!
