Image Upload Error

I recently installed nextGEN and tried to create a new gallery and upload images. I name the new gallery, add the files, Start Upload. Each of the files runs through to 100%, then an ! appears and it says “0 files uploaded”. Then the added file names disappear.

I have already:
– uninstalled and reinstalled the plug in
– tried multiple files for upload (all .jpgs), tried uploading one at a time or in batches
– tried both Safari and Chrome

Other suggestions?
