 * Hello [@riclager](https://wordpress.org/support/users/riclager/),
 * This looks more like a permission issue. Please check the site permission from
   here [https://www.lagerco.com/wp-admin/site-health.php?tab=debug](https://www.lagerco.com/wp-admin/site-health.php?tab=debug)
   >> Filesystem Permission >> Check if everything has writeable?
 * If not, for the uploads direction, then you’ll need hosting access to fix this.
 * I’ll share a few guides that help resolve such issues. Please refer to them,
   as the process will be quite long, and it’s recommended to create a backup of
   the site beforehand.

 * Thank you very much for this response.
 * In all honesty, this is ridiculous. I have used WordPress to host my company
   web site for many, many years. I do every update recommended to me.
 * All of a sudden I can’t upload an image file for my weekly blog post?
 * I don’t have the time or the technical knowledge to fix this issue. Maybe it’s
   time to look for an alternative to WordPress.

 * Imran Khan.
 * Again, I wanted to reach out to you to say thanks for your response to my image
   error question earlier this morning.
 * When your response link directed me to my WordPress Site Health page, I contacted
   my web site host regarding an update to the 8,3 or higher PHP version. I was
   just notified of that update.
 * My image uploaded to my blog post immediately after my first attempt after the
   update.
 * Thanks again for your help.

 * The issue with permissions arises from the hosting environment you are using
   for your website. This is not something that WordPress can influence or control
   for you. If there is a change in your hosting that alters the access permissions,
   you will need to resolve it there.
 * I am now uncertain where your website is hosted. You write that it runs on Windows
   11, but your host is Hostgator. I suspect you are confusing your own PC (with
   Windows 11) with the area where your website is located (at Hostgator). For the
   above problem, you would need to contact Hostgator support. They will certainly
   be able to help you the fastest.

 * Thanks for your response. See above.
 * I did contact my web site host who updated my PHP to 8.3 or higher. On my first
   attempt after that update, I was able to upload an image attached to my blog
   post.

 * Hi [@riclager](https://wordpress.org/support/users/riclager/),
 * I saw your error about uploading images to wp-content/uploads.
 * This usually happens when the server folder permissions don’t allow uploads.
   Many users have fixed it by updating their PHP version or contacting their hosting
   provider to check folder permissions.
 * You can also check the official WordPress guide on file permissions here: [https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-file-permissions/](https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-file-permissions/)
 * Hope this helps! Good luck getting it resolved.

 * Thanks for your response. The image upload issue was resolved after my hosting
   provider received my instructions to update their PHP version.
