# Image uploading Error

 * **My problem is as follows:**
    I start a new post, type what I want to type and
   then go to the “choose files to upload” button. I hit the browse button and select
   the file I need. The loading bar shows up and as soon as it seeems to be done
   crunching the file an error shows up in place of the add a caption area. ** The
   error reads like this: Unable to create directory /wp-content/uploads/2008/12.
   Is its parent directory writable by the server?
 * What can I do to fix this?
