    Hi Fonda,

The images are cropped differently because the plugin generates a custom image size to use when displaying the announcement. This was implemented to help mitigate issues with different size images being uploaded and displayed differently. That’s why on the announcement page we recommend a minimum image size.

What is the original size of the image that you uploaded in that first announcement? From the source, it looks smaller than the others.

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hello Evan,
The announcement at the top of the timeline (Dec 29th) is the last one I created. Image size is 1MB (5067×3378). I don’t think image size is the issue.
I have run a few tests:
    – when I create a new announcement with an image already used in previous announcements, the display is fine and the image is not cropped
    – when I create a new announcement with a new image, the most recent uploads are cropped but not the old ones.
I need to check more precisely but it seems that images uploaded after I installed your plugin are cropped but not the ones uploaded before.

    Regards

I can confirm. I have uploaded again the photo with your plugin inactivated and the image is not cropped any longer.
Please note that I don’t upload images from the hard drive but using a Lightroom plugin called LR/blog. I export directly from LR into WP (protocol used is XML-RPC). I don’t know if it makes any difference.

    Hi Fonda,

As I mentioned, when the plugin is active and you import photos a custom image size is generated. If you upload the photo without the plugin active, the custom image size does not get generated thus why the larger image size is used.

I will add a custom filter to define your own image size in the next version. This will allow you to use whatever image size youd like for your announcement images.

The filter will be in the v1.1.5.5 documentation. If you need any help implementing the filter, please consider purchasing a support license and I’ll help you get it set up.

    Thanks,
    Evan

Thank you Evan for the explanation. I will wait for the future version but in the meantime I have a way to make it work with temporary plugin inactivation.
    Best regards

    Hi Fonda,

The latest version has been released. It just seems rather inefficient to have to deactivate the plugin each time you want to upload a new image.
