 * Hello WordPress Community, I tried to edit my mom’s clinic website that was not
made by me and in the process I ended up deleting the whole template. When I
   access the website [http://institutovitasana.com.br/equipe/](http://institutovitasana.com.br/equipe/)
I get the old source code, with the template that I modified, but when entering
the WordPress To edit, my template is still deleted.
Since I can still get the
source code of the old template I was wondering if I could just swap the empty
source coude with the old functioning one. Can someone please help?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fimplementing-old-source-code%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * You could, but you may not get the results you want. Make backups of the files
as they are now, then give it a try. If it doesn’t work, restore the originals
from backup. Before doing anything, flush any caching that may be active, both
in your browser and on the server to be sure you are viewing current data.
 * I’m not clear on what you actually did and how your proposal would fix it. Here’s
what I would do in general to solve template issues. First create a [child theme](https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/)
dependent upon the current Astra theme. Copy any customized files and templates
into the child folder. Be sure there is another theme available to use, then
using FTP, remove the Astra theme’s folder and files from wp-content/themes/.
Reinstall a fresh, clean version of the Astra theme. Then activate your child
theme. WP will still use Astra for most purposes, but use any template files
in your child theme with the same name as the Astra templates.
 * From here on out, only make changes in your child theme. You can copy template
files from Astra if you wish to modify them.
