 * Hi.
 * Great plugin and very satisfied so far!
 * I have a question, though!
 * In every product , I have already set the EAN code as a Custom Product Attribute.
 * How can I tranfer this value , from the Custom Product Attribute to the EAN field,
   for all my products ?
 * Regards

 * Hi [@jkont](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jkont/),
 * Thank you.
 * I think what you need is our “Copy from product attribute” tool in “WooCommerce
   > Settings > EAN > Tools”. Please give it a try and let me know what you think.

 * Hi.
 * No, this does not work because all my barcodes are stored in a **CUSTOM** product
   attribute and the setting you suggest me does not allow me to choose a custom
   attribute (all the other attributes are listed but not the custom ones).
 * Regards

 * Hi, [@jkont](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jkont/),
 * Please update the plugin to the latest v4.6.0. Then go to the plugin’s “Tools”
   section, set the “Copy from product attribute” option to “Custom”, enter your
   custom attribute name in the “Custom product attribute” text field below, and
   run the tool. Please give it a try and let me know what you think. And if you
   like the plugin, please consider [leaving me a rating](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/ean-for-woocommerce/reviews/).

 * Is it also possible to import EAN from a certain table?

 * Hi, [@zaka888](https://wordpress.org/support/users/zaka888/),
 * I’m sorry, but I’m not sure if I got the question correctly. Do you mean you
   want to run an SQL command and copy EANs from some DB table? If that’s the case–
   generally, yes – you’d need to copy them to the WordPress `postmeta` table.
 * Or do you mean you have a list of EANs you want to assign to your products? In
   this case, what you need is our “Assign from the list” tool (in “WooCommerce
   > Settings > EAN > Tools”).
 * I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
 * P.S. Also, it will be better if you [create a new topic](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/ean-for-woocommerce/#new-topic-0)
   for this.

 * Hi [@algoritmika](https://wordpress.org/support/users/algoritmika/) ,
 * Thank you for the detailed explanation, but I’m still a bit confused about how
   this option works. Let’s say I have multiple products listed in a .CSV file.
   How does the plugin know which EAN code belongs to each product? Am I correct
   in my understanding?
 * I must admit, I’m not very experienced with this syncing method, so I appreciate
   your patience in explaining it to me. I’m eager to understand how this process
   works so I can apply it effectively.
 * Thanks again for your help, and I look forward to your guidance.

 * Hi, [@zaka888](https://wordpress.org/support/users/zaka888/),
 * When you run the “Assign from the list” tool, the plugin sorts your shop’s products
   by ID (ascending) and then assigns EANs from the “List” option (starting from
   the top line). So if you want to assign your EANs to specific products, you should
   sort EANs by product ID in your CSV file, copy them to our “List” option and
   run the tool.

 * [@algoritmika](https://wordpress.org/support/users/algoritmika/)
 * Thank you for your response. Lets say I have 800 products with 800 EAN codes
   sorted in a .CSV file. What will happen for example if I add a 10 products to
   WordPress and not updating the .CSV list. What will happen to those remaining
   products. Ofcourse they will have a higher product ID

 * Hi, [@zaka888](https://wordpress.org/support/users/zaka888/),
 * A few notes:
    - Just to be sure we are on the same page – the tool won’t take EANs directly
      from the CSV file – you’ll need to manually copy/paste them from the CSV to
      our “Assign from the list > List” option.
    - It automatically removes the assigned EANs from the “List” option.
    - It only assigns EANs to products without EAN, i.e., it does **not** overwrite
      the existing EANs.
 * So if you have 800 products, and you copy/pasted 800 EANs to the “List” option–
   after you run the tool, it will assign all 800 EANs to your products, and the“
   List” option will become empty.
 * Now if you add 10 more products to your site and run the tool again with the “
   List” option empty, it will do nothing.
 * If you add 10 EANs to the “List” option and run the tool, it will assign them
   to your new products (i.e., products that already have EAN will be skipped),
   and it will clear the “List” option. Alternatively, adding 15 EANs to the “List”
   option will assign 10 EANs and leave 5 EANs in the “List” option.
 * I hope this helps.

 * [@algoritmika](https://wordpress.org/support/users/algoritmika/) Thank you for
   your explaination. I have tried it and it works and the information you gave
   are correct. I do have another question. But I will open a new topic for that.
