# Import Description?

 * I see that meta description can be imported as excerpt, but can it be imported
   to be used as meta description? I Yoast activated, but the descriptions from 
   my pages are not being imported. I’ve attempted to specify a custom attribute.
   I don’t understand why it won’t import, such that it can be used for its intended
   purpose, and not just as an excerpt.

 * Since you are using Yoast SEO, you use Yoast’s meta description templates to 
   automatically use the post’s excerpt as its meta.
 * Go to SEO > Titles & Metas > Post Types
    Then fill in %%excerpt%% as the meta
   description template for your posts. Or pages, or whatever.
