Importing a theme, Preserving setting/ frontend

    I am hosting two WordPress sites on separate two distinct servers.

    Lets call them server A , and server B.

    I backup server A’s database and export it’s xml theme. Everything works great.

    After importing the database and theme.xml file , the frontend is reset to the default look.

    Is it possible to import a theme while keeping the frontend look and feel as well as the Theme settings the same.

    also any tip on maintaining wordpress with git. I feel as though that is what is causing the problem.
