# Importing Databases

 * I have tried unsuccessfully to import Textpattern and b2evolution databases into
   my SQL 5 databases for WP 2.1. There are error messages that neither database
   exists.
 * Has anyone successfully imported these two programs?

 * This is the message I get when I try to import my Textpattern archives:
 * WordPress database error: [Table ‘leftflankblog.txptxp_category’ doesn’t exist]
   
   SELECT id, name, title FROM txptxp_category WHERE type = “article” No Categories
   to Import!
 * WordPress database error: [Table ‘leftflankblog.wp_options’ doesn’t exist]
    SELECT
   option_value FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = ‘txp_cats’ LIMIT 1
 * WordPress database error: [Table ‘leftflankblog.wp_options’ doesn’t exist]
    INSERT
   INTO wp_options (option_name, option_value, option_description, autoload) VALUES(‘
   txp_cats’, ”, ”, ‘yes’)

 * I look at those errors and I get the impression you’re trying to manually import
   a Textpattern database backup directly into a WordPress database.
 * Surely I’m wrong?
 * Could you be a bit more descriptive as to what you’re doing when you get these
   errors? You’re at
    Manage -> Import -> Textpattern right?
