importing post only, from a database backup

Here is the short story.
I have a database backup of my old wordpress blog, now I’ve changed my hosting and my domain and I would like to import “just the posts” from that database. Is this possible?

I tried importing the whole database from the mySQL panel, but it didn’t work (wordpress wouldn’t show).
