    Hmm weird…
The plugin works fine – with standard settings.
When I try to change a setting, after clicking ‘save settings’, I get the message that changes have been saved, but they really are back to standard settings…
    Impossible to change a setting.
On the backend .htaccess does change. So when I choose xcache for page caching, it tells me, that settings have been changed plus a warning that .htaccess is wrong (it has changed for opcode caching but the plugin is back at disk caching).
Is there an obvious solution that I am missing?
    Thanks for any hint

Are you using any opcode cache? Does your server use network attached file storage?

    Thanks for your reply.
It was an opcode caching problem (xcache). I somehow assumed that the cache would be emptied automatically when I change settings.
Everything works fine with the current version of w3tc and xcache now that I empty the cache manually on any change.
