Improvements to the plugin
-
Hello Sir,
I used Badge Designer Lite (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/woo-badge-designer-lite) and created the most beautiful WooCommerce Badges. See example on my test website (https://dml.truesauce.com.ng/shop).Everything was fine when I was using Phlox Theme on my live site. But somehow, Phlox Theme became unstable, and I switched to Blocksy Theme.
Suddenly the plugin doesn’t work with Blocksy Theme, and the developers of Blocksy Theme informed me that the problem is with the plugin– which uses outdated coding techniques (those were their words).
I was forced by this situation to look for another Badge plugin and yours seems to be the best I’ve found so far.
Yours seem to have the most Advanced Options ever possible. But I’d like to highlight 5 things that I think you should improve on:
1.) Live Badges, and not 2D: Badges created with your plugin looks like 2D.
What makes Badge Designer Badges beautiful is because they look like Live JPEG and PNG images. I don’t know how they did it, but the Badges looking like live Jpeg/Png images makes them beautiful.
Can you improve the Visual Appearance of your badges to look more Jpeg/png instead of looking like 2D?
2.) Icons to Badges: Badges created with Badge Designer are bundled with Font Awesome, Dash Icons, Elegant icons, Linearicons, and some other Icon Packs. See screenshot– https://prntscr.com/10t1phi
So we are able to create Badges and assign icons before the Text, from these icon services.
You can see examples from my test website. The Badges have icons before the Text.
Can you add this feature to your plugin as well?
3.) Coner Badges. If you check my Exclusive, Regular, Classic and Vintage badges, you will see that they have a Coner, or a Fold.
Can you add option for this kind of Badge?
For more inspiration, you may install the Badge Designer Lite plugin, test it, study it, to see how it works, and how it was created to be able to do this function.
4.) Custom SVG Badges: Can you add option for us to upload Custom SVG Badges?
I’m able now, to load SVG directly to WordPress.
Can you make it possible to upload our custom created SVG Badge and assign it to any product of our choice?
5.) How long do you plan to support this plugin?
And what’s your Long Term Plan for the continued existence of the plugin when you leave this world?
Please, don’t take this question the wrong way. The reason why this question is asked, is because you seem to be an individual and not a Company.
And individual plugins don’t take long to become abandonware in the WordPress repository. So I asked this question to ascertain if you are really committed to this plugin for the next 10 years to come.
If you now understand my reason, the question is then asked again:
How long do you plan to support this plugin?
And what’s your Long Term Plan for the continued existence of the plugin when you leave this world?
Needing to hear from you soon.
Regards.
