The current version of CongressLookup plugin uses the older API provided by http://sunlightfoundation.com/api/ for congressional information only. There are plans to update CongressLookup to the newer more comprehensive version 3 of the API before the current version is abandoned, which won’t be until after the 2014 elections.
The good news is that the Sunlight Foundation also provides an Open States API that does exactly what you want. It is a dream of mine to create a companion plugin for state legislatures.

Unfortunately the development of these plugins have been a labor of love and not a money-making proposition so we are limited to do this in our not-so-abundant free time. But it’s good to know there is an interest for it 😀
