# Include plugin version in zip file name

 * Can you please consider adding the version to the zip file name ?
 * I.E [https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/white-label-cms.2.2.9.zip](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/white-label-cms.2.2.9.zip)
 * I notice this is done by many plugin devs and also aids automation when building
   docker images and wish to wget your plugin to a pinned version.

 * The problem is that when installing a new plugin the zip filename becomes the
   plugin folder name – so now the version becomes part of that folder name. Then
   what happens when the plugin is upgrade to a newer version?! I definitely agree
   that the version should be part of the zip filename – anything else is ludicrous.
   But someone at WordPress didn’t really think through managing plugin versions..
