# Incorrect Authentication Data Error

 * I put in the login information for an [@live](https://wordpress.org/support/users/live/).
   com account, but when I go to send a test email, it tells me I have incorrect
   authentication data. I know the username and password are correct.
 * What do I do?

 * If you are sure your username and password are correct, then Hotmail may have
   disabled passwords for your account. Try using OAuth 2.0 instead.

 * That was weird. I had to uninstall it and reinstall it like 3 different times
   and then it finally worked. Exact same information as I put in before. Thanks
   for your response though! I love it when I get responses within a couple of hours
   of posting!

 * Well, Postman does not modify data on uninstall/reinstall, so I would say your
   progress is coincidental. I would keep a close eye on it!
