# Incorrect Password Message

 * Am unable to log-in to my blog due to _incorrect password _in spite of the fact
   that the password worked last week. I’ve tried changing PW 3 times and WP log-
   in will not accept the change. Still get incorrect password message every time.
 * Was able to get in to Admin on Friday no problem using my old password, however,
   today, got an ‘Incorrect Password’ message on trying to access dashboard. Requested
   PW be reset, but still can’t get in. Have tried re-starting my computer and accessing
   my Blog on another computer – both to no avail.
 * Need help!

 * You go to your mysql admin ……….i.e phpmyadmin ………..if you have installed ………..
   open the databse which u have used for wordpress ….. use this code
    Be sure you
   have installed wordpress in root.

 * Thank you both for the reply – working on it….
 * Also, strangly, got an email purportedly from WP with a WP ‘security patch’ attachment
   I was to download and install.
 * I’ve been using WP for a long time and have not seen such a patch sent via email.
   Any ideas what? who that might be?

 * Upon doing what did you get the email? For PW resetting? What is the name of 
   the attachment and for what purpose?

 * I did nothing with the email – since I thought it looked suspicious. The topic
   was about a missing WP ‘security patch’ – nothing to do with my PW issue. I can
   forward the email to you if you will give me an email address.

 * Just pasted the email – I went to check the properties of the download patch 
   and all information re properties was ‘Not Available’.

 * No, it is not from WP, or anything related to that, but real spam or malware.
   By the way, did you try to get a PW reset from your login form?

 * No, I was unable to get a reset. Have a friend that is looking at the code for
   me. He found some ‘salt’ code in the wp-config.php file – so working on that.
   I’m not knowledgeable enough to work on the php code –
