    Hi

I use Wordfence plugin to keep my site protected and to check plugin files against changes. It works great but lately WPSSO started to create some warnings, namely: proposed by Wordfence “original” file of WPSSO has old information (incorrect version info and others).

What I wanted to say is that the version of WPSSO to download is ok, but somehow the backup repository of the WPSSO on Wordfence servers is wrong. It happens usually when the plugin (in this case WPSSO) was updated incorrectly: exchanged instead releasing new version (or new release was false – old version – and quickly, but not quickly enough it was exchanged for the correct one).

At least that’s the most reasonable explanation right now of this issue.

Hm. I can’t really comment on how WordFence manages their plugin “signature” database, but generally WPSSO is managed according to the standard release techniques (a new tag is created, checked-in, and stable release number is updated). Generally, the files within a tag stay as-is, though the readme.txt changes.

I try and push a new release every 1-2 weeks, but I’ve had more time to develop these days (haven’t been traveling as much), so new versions are more frequent. I expect the release schedule will go back to normal in the next few weeks (as I start traveling again). 😉

If this happens again, please don’t hesitate to open a new thread on the subject, and I can have a look to see if anything changed in the SVN repository.

    Thanks,

    js.

OK, thanks for response. Will be waiting for new update, hoping it will fix the issue with the incompatibility of files in downloaded and backed up version.
