Increase header size

How can I increase the vertical size/height of the header? I have tried entering the following in custom css with no success. Thanks in advance!
.header {
height: 250px;
}

Hey there,
That css should work perfectly. Can you please try adding it using Advanced CSS Editor plugin and see if it works?
Thanks!
thanks that worked great. The purpose of me increasing the header size though was to allow for space below for the tagline. I currently have the blog tagline listed as “under the blog title” however since importing my new logo it keeps moving it over to the right of the logo. My ideal appearance would be to have the logo and tagline left aligned with a small amount of padding from the edge. Thanks again!
Hey there,
Glad it worked. Don’t forget to mark this thread as resolved. Cheers 🙂
thanks
not sure why people use a custom css plugin when this theme has built in a custom css field in the theme options/customize where you can simply insert it. also, there is no need to insert any custom css when this theme has option to set the header padding which will definitely set the header height (better for responsive view). it looks like present people are really lazy to check the theme’s benefits…sigh :S
@romik84 Please don’t call people who are trying to help other people lazy. It’s a different thing to educate people and add that there’s an option to add CSS. The user just looked at his site and gave the CSS using inspect element, instead of installing the theme.
@hardeep the comment was not addressed to the user who tried to help, but that you should know 😉
How do I reduce the white space padding in the header? I am trying to do the opposite.
I was talking about the both, the one asking for help and one providing help. 🙂
my comment explained 😉
Hi,
As a theme author, it’s your responsibility to provide the user with a user-friendly and detailed documentation. Apart from that, it’s also required in Theme review guideline.
And your docs at https://theme4press.com/docs/ aren’t helpful. Not everyone is a WordPress expert.
And @localgreeneats, there is an option to set heading padding in theme options which you can use, as mentioned above. And please create a new thread for your questions. Hope you understand. 🙂
@hardeep, so you are saying that to use the Customize/Theme Options page must be user an expert, seriously? Same like me, you have two eyes and you can read clearly what every option means as it has its own description ;). Writing a doc for every single option is useless and could definitelly confuse the end user 😉
Most themes use there own theme options or the rest of the theme options are in the customizer. I think most users have got used to making changes in the customizer.
@ Hardeep, I have but haven’t received a response yet.
I think you could have said it in a nicer way to the theme author.
