    It really offers nothing more than a basic site, and is a bit laughable that the WordPress team keeps putting out these godawful themes every year when they are nothing more than ‘slightly’ updated from the terrible theme they had the year before.

    The point of the default themes is to show off the new features in WordPress at time of release, that’s all.

    They aren’t intended to turn the design world on its head, there are plenty of other great themes for that, but plenty of folks also find the default themes to be enough too.
