 * Hey
 * I run a web site for a film club in Norway and am looking into a video plugin
   which I can control a few more things then the standard embeds can. So I decided
   to check out your plugin…
 * Installed and the first thing I noticed was that the sidebar item has a sub item
   that was one line down from what it should be or perhaps in the middle of a larger
   black square.
    (I can send a screenshot)
 * I clicked to go to the Settings and bang this full page of lots of text came
   up.
    Try and minimize the text and clean up the initial settings page. If the
   other tabs are like this then clean them up as well.
 * Check out various other plugins and learn from them.
 * Btw Here is something I wrote earlier and posted here:
    [https://www.facebook.com/groups/advancedwp/permalink/1065323053529908/](https://www.facebook.com/groups/advancedwp/permalink/1065323053529908/)
 * Learning from how developers present their plugins.
    Have you looked at similar
   plugins and how they present their UI, setting screens, etc. What about writing
   down some questions before looking at how developers present their plugins?
 * 1. WP Repo. Look at plugin name, plugin sub site title, description page. What
   is on the description page? How are words put together? Use of bullet points?
   Video? What else?
    Screenshots page. Are these appealing? Do you want to download
   the plugin based only on the screenshots? Do the screenshots represent a broad
   overview of the plugin? WP backend..
 * 2. What does their installed plugin screen look like? As in what options and
   words do they use for their installed plugin.
 * 3. Left sidebar icon and name. Plugin sidebar menu links.
    How do they organize
   plugin settings? Words, features, visual, tooltips etc.
 * 4..
    What features are useful that seems to be more hidden? How can one show
   these useful features in a way that does not overcrowd the user? Can one use
   accordions to open for additional information? What other methods are a good
   way of showing features with just the write amount of text and images?
 * Have in your mind what you need to study before looking at other similar plugins.
   Write down. Take screenshots. Notice things. Learn from them (useful and things
   that are not so useful). Use your new knowledge and use it for your own plugin.

   What was important in your plugin presentation to get right before releasing?
   What did you discover during the first phase after having released that was important
   to adjust?
 * Have a great day!
    Sorry to say this plugin did not pass my 2 second test because
   of the cluttered UI.

 * Paal,
 * Thanks for your feedback. The complexity of the plugin aligns with the growing
   complexity of YouTube. Perhaps this growth is why you decided to seek out a plugin.
 * We’ll take a look at some UI refinements a bit more this year. Note that some
   features are just going to have to require text for an explanation. If you are
   exploring a plugin for new functionalities, it might require a bit more time
   than a couple of seconds to read about them. We also have several helper videos
   in our YouTube channel: [https://www.youtube.com/user/EmbedPlus](https://www.youtube.com/user/EmbedPlus)
 * Happy New Year!

 * The difficult case here is for your guys to present complex settings in an easy
   way as possible without crowding with text explanations. Remember that one option
   is to use tool tips to lesson the text burden. Other ways could be to create
   accordions having the user click to open an accordion with extra info etc.
 * Send me an e-mail when you want some more feedback on UI etc.
 * I create tutorials.
