# Initial setup: Not logging into Gmail

 * I am unable to log into the gmail account – I have setup Gmail and logged in 
   through the normal web interface so I know password works. I have enabled Pop.
 * I get this error log:
    Connect to Mail Host Postie connection: sockets Postie
   protocol: pop3-ssl Postie server: pop.gmail.com Postie port: 995 pConnection:
   mailbox: INBOX Connecting via Socket Socket: tls://pop.gmail.com:995 Socket error:
   0 – Socket: POP3 socket read (1) :+OK Gpop ready for requests from 52.71.23.226

    Mail Protocol Pop-SSL Port: 995 Mail Server: pop.gmail.com

 * I can only go by what the message is saying. Many people are using Postie with
   Gmail, including myself so I know it does work.
 * I would ensure that the password is correct and not being altered by a password
   manager or browser autofill.
