• Hi,
Since i updated my website http://www.therapeutia.com to wordpress 4.6.1–fr-FR, it is not possible anymore to insert any new slide in my slideshow (old ones or new ones).
Anyone who has such a problem and/or idea how to solve this ?
    Thanks
    Claude

  • Hi, Claude try the following. Disable all your other plugins and try again. If this does not work create a backup of your site. Then uninstall the plugin and install a fresh new copy.

Let me know how you go.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your answer.

I noticed that i have the same effect of inactive button “insert slide” in another plugin:updraftplus, the buttons become inactive and the plugin gives me the message “If you can read this after the page finishes loading, then there is a JavaScript or jQuery problem in your web browser ». That message disappear when I disable « Slideshow » plugin (see https://updraftplus.com/do-you-have-a-javascript-or-jquery-error/).

I tried disabling other plugins : no success
I tried delete + reinstalling fresh plugin slideshow : no success

And last but not least, some months ago, i made a copy of the installation for test purposes. And on that installation, with all the same plugins activated, the problem does not occur…

    Any tips?

    Claude

Hi, can you test one of WordPress default themes like Twenty Fifteen or Sixteen?

    Thank you

Hi, try a different browser? What is the difference between the old copy and the latest copy as per your comment below.

Hi, same problem in different browsers.

See what is shown in inspect console when the plugin Slideshow is active (below)

difference between old and new copy ? How to find the differences ? the new one is created from a backup of the old one.

Hi, your issue is very strange especially since both sites are identical.

    …So what’s next?
Could it be possible that the webhosting had special javascript/jquery config for one specific url ?

    Claude

Hi Claude I am not sure if a Host would control this part. Maybe it is related to a browser issue/conflict. I am not really sure because I have not experienced this and other users have not reported this issue.

We’ve covered all the troubleshooting steps like disabling all plugins except this one, change the theme to a default theme. The only test you have not done yet, is installing a fresh WordPress in your local environment and only installing this plugin then carrying out a test. If this result is positive then you could say that one of your WordPress core files might be corrupted. Or in some case the post or page where you have added the shortcode might be corrupted.

    Regards
