Take a look at the documentation for “Carousel handling” here: https://aquoid.com/plugins/photonic/instagram/#own-photos

I did look at that page, but not sure why I should look at carousel handling. I want to show my 10 latest Instagram pictures, so using count=10 as described on that same page in the Videos section. Is there a different way I should do this?

If any of your posts has multiple photos, by default all photos get displayed. That will make it appear as though Photonic is pulling an incorrect number of photos, while in reality it is simply pulling photos from your last 10 posts (some of which might have more than 1 photo) – this type of behavior has been in place since early 2020. Note that Instagram itself (not Photonic) does not deal in photos, but it deals in posts. The carousel handling adjusts this behavior by showing just one photo from a multi-photo post.
