 * Hi.
 * Maybe you have answered this question before, but I looked for them and I can’t
   find any answers from the last few years.
 * My question is: is it best to have the WordPress site in the root folder or is
   it the same to have it in a subdirectory?
 * Does this affect SEO?
 * This question comes because sometimes I develop websites in a subdirectory and
   it is a lot easier to leave them there and set the whole thing to open like if
   it was in the root than having to manually move everything to the root and change
   everything in the website.
 * Thanks.

 * I believe the answer to this question is subjective and really depends on what
   the goals are.
 * If WordPress is going to be used to build the entire website, it would be best
   suited in the root directory for that specific domain name.
 * If WordPress is going to be used specifically for a blog section of a website,
   it could be in a sub directory.
 * If you are hosting multiple domains/websites on a single hosting plan, then it
   would make sense that each domain point to a sub directory that has it’s own
   WordPress instance.
 * In regard to SEO, it shouldn’t make a difference where the instance lives as
   long as SEO best practices are used in Permalink structure, page content, and
   any specific Meta (description, title, etc).

 * Hi bretwp.
 * Thank for your answer.
 * Ok, I as worried with SEO. I already had the website installed in a subdirectory
   because there was another development going on and the root was taken, but no
   more.
 * So I don’t want to move everything to the root if I can leave it like this.
 * Thanks again.
