 * I have a blog on myDomain.com on a WP GoDaddy (Ultimate) package. I’ll be pointing
   another domain to the same server and thought I could set up the site in advance
   in myDomain.com/subFolder to make a seamless switch. However, a clean install
   of WP went fine but all buttons navigate to the parent blog, with ‘Page not found’
   nested in the home frame.
 * Where can I reset the root for the sub domain, or will this be automatically
   resolved when I update the DNS for the second domain to point to the myDomain.
   com/subfolder?
    Or how does that work? Thanks in advance! new territory for me,..
   I’m a sound engineer 😉

 * which buttons? are navigating to the blog. do you have a link to the site in
   question.
 * if im understanding your problem correctly; heres two ways you could do it.
 * 1. create the new blog by making it a sub-domain like this: subfolder.yourdomain.
   com do this in hostgators add-on domain option,then load wordpress on it using
   fantastico.
 * or
 * 2. create folder as you mentioned. you can do it hostgator but i usually just
   create a folder using my ftp client under the domain name you want to use.ie..
   mydomain.com/blog then load wordpress in /blog folder.
 * once the new blog folder is setup you can use duplicator plugin to easily transfer/
   clone/copy everything to it.

 * Thanks for the quick answer. The domain is [http://lcrecordings.com/](http://lcrecordings.com/)(
   3.3.2) and I’ve installed another WP instance (3.4) in [http://lcrecordings.com/enoch/](http://lcrecordings.com/enoch/)
 * Click on any button and it will open the page up in the parent frame. I’ve got
   a similar local set up using MAMP on Mac, and this works fine so was hopeful
   it would be the same 😉
 * hostgator sounds very useful will give that a try, but would first like to make
   sure root is correctly defined. Wondering if I need to define the Path somewhere
   in wp-config.php or is there a string in the DB I need to tweak?
 * many thanks,
    peter
