# Installing Plugin; Could not create directroy

 * I have tried installing several different plugins and continue to get the same
   message:
    Unpacking the package…
 * Installing the plugin…
 * Could not create directory. /hermes/web07/b2388/moo.fionalapham/wp-content/plugins/
   nextgen-gallery/
 * Plugin install failed.
 * I have tried uploading one plugin with an FTP, but it also doesn’t work.
    I have
   also changed the permissions to 777…still nothing. Any ideas? I am new to wordpress
   and may just be doing something simply stupid.
