# install.php (drop in plugin)

 * I am new to WordPress so I have question.
 * Under plugins I have a “drop in plugin” called “install.php”
    What is it? The
   file does not appear under plugins in the FTP file manager but is located under
   wp-content.
 * The reason for my question is I have disabled all other plugins to try and resolve
   some theme issues. I have loaded and unloaded several themes before trying to
   decide on the best option for my site and loaded and unloaded many plugins for
   the same reason.
 * Is the install.php part of the WordPress program or has it been installed by 
   one of the previously installed themes or plugins?
