 * Hi there,
 * I hope someone can help me. My mind has dissolved into a bubbling mess….
 * I can’t seem to get this wordpress thing of the ground at all.
    When I run the
   install.php from my web browser I get the message “Your PHP installation appears
   to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress.”
 * I honestly have no idea what this means and I can’t find anything about it that
   makes sense to me.
 * Please help.

 * Really? I think that the message is pretty straightforward, actually. Your PHP
   installation does not have the MySQL extension installed or activated. WordPress
   needs that extension to work. It’s quite a simple message, really.
 * You need to talk to your host or whoever runs your webserver and have them fix
   it. If you run your own webserver, then you should already know this, but I’ll
   tell you anyway. Open the PHP.INI file, find the mysql line, remove the # from
   the front of that line to enable the mysql extension.

 * Okay guys thanks for the info. I’ll see what can be done..
 * Honestly, you’d be surprised what does and what does not make sense when you
   don’t have any knowledge on the subject.

 * Yip, looks like this one was entirely my fault.
    When I ordered my new hosting
   account from Webfusion I ordered the wrong one. It came with Microsoft SLQ database
   capability but not MySLQ…. whoopsy.
 * I’m now cancelling and re-ordering the proper hosting package.
 * Thanks again for the help guys,
    Dave
