# install.php not appearing

 * I work for a small community soccer newspaper. I’d like to install a “blog” type
   thing for some of our newsposts, as I’ve done for our small portuguese newspaper(
   vozlusitana.com)… I successfully installed wordpress there.
 * But on my current install, when I type in install.php, nothing appears. check
   it out yourself:

 * yes. before, i was getting a “not connecting to database” error… and then, the
   install page simply disappeared, and I can’t get it back (it is uploaded to the
   server)

 * tried that! created a new database… deleted old files, and started from scratch.
   I’m at a loss. *shrug*

 * Well, it depends on your host. I’d suggest starting by checking your FTP server
   for any log directories, and if none are found, then move on to any control panel
   your host provides you with. If neither are accessible or provide said logs, 
   then e-mail them requesting the server’s error logs for your account.

 * hmm… the issue appeared to be two ‘ quote marks ‘ in one spot

 * Probably, yes.
    That means one or more of the 4 pieces of info entered in the
   config file is not correct. That simple 🙂

 * done! a long time ago. a simple version of the site is now set up.
