 * I installed instant wordpress on my computer to test themes etc. InstantWP had
   message that I needed to update the wordpress within instantwp. This update is
   supposed to happen automatically but it could not write one of the files.
    I 
   am hesitant to update manually as I am a rank beginner and get lost quite easily.
   1st – I question if I need to update wordpress at all, since I just installed
   instantwp yesterday. Surely instantwp includes the most recent version of wordpress?
   2nd – If I don’t update wordpress, will I still be able to move the website I
   create to my host? thanks in advance

 * when you log in wordpress you should see the version.

 * ahh- it installed version 3.2.
    so, will I have to update manually or can I create
   website using wordpress 3.2 within wpinstant and upload? thanks

 * In wordpress admin you should have update available if just update from wordpress
   admin panel
