Interactive infographics in WordPress

Apologies in advance for the vague question. I hope the subject is allowed on this forum….

My colleagues are very keen to start using interactive infographics on our websites. This is an example of the sort of thing they like:

I have no idea what sort of technology could produce such a thing!! I assume this sort of thing is created outside of WordPress. Eg using Adobe Edge Animate? This really is a whole new world to me…..

Can externally-created infographics such as this be embedded in a WordPress site? Has anyone had any success in doing so? Are there any design tools that integrate well with WordPress?

As you can tell, I really am clueless about this…..
