Looks like 2.3 has some sort of an issue so I’ve decided to install 2.0 version and it works fine. Apparently, there is a difference in how the 2 builds were developed. I hope someone can fix 2.3

I ran into this problem back in October and then again tonight trying to install on another website. Your problem might be the same as mine.

Check your error logs for the server, these are usually accessed through some sort of site admin panel or C-Panel. You might see an entry that looks like this:

[client 24.107.184.211] Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 10 bytes)

This was the explanation from my host: “The problem stems from the fact that this new version of WordPress requires 16MB of PHP.ini memory, whereas you are currently provisioned with 8MB of memory.”

Usually contacting your host and asking them to allocate more memory would be enough.

    Hope this helps. 🙂

    Kate
