# Internal Server Error

 * Activating the plugin sent me into an immediate error 500.
 * A little bit of investigation revealed it to be caused by this line added to 
   the htaccess file:
 * `Header append Vary User-Agent env=!dont-vary`
 * Commenting out this line resolves the error. But what purpose is this line supposed
   to serve?

 * Thanks for reporting.
 * This rule is in place to make sure that proxies don’t deliver the wrong content.
   There is some more information on this, here [http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_deflate.html#proxies](http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_deflate.html#proxies)
 * The only possible reason for you getting a 500 internal server error that i can
   think of would be that your host has the mod_expires/mod_headers module disabled.
   Have you checked with them? Please let me know.
