Maybe some of the files got corrupted/missing on installation which would explain the error. * If that also doesn’t work we will probably need access to the site to investigate such an odd issue. Running SMF on Fasthosts at [http://www.Residents4U.org](http://www.Residents4U.org) and I get the exactly the same error messages and database hangs on WP-Admin. This was after an upgrade to Fasthosts’ ‘Low Contention Database’. External site works ok but WP-Admin is unusable. Took a few days of troubleshooting but narrowed it down to SMF. When it is disabled all works fine. When it is re-enabled the WP-Admin hangs. It also breaks all the javascript on WP-Admin so the Menu and Widget admin pages are unusable. Deleting SMF and reinstalling it makes no difference. It still causes DBA hangs on WP-Admin.
