 * I instaled piwik into my own server and it seems to run properly. I have no errors
   whatsoever.
 * so I installed this plugin onto my WordPress 3.5 multisite edition and tried
   to network activate the plugin. I then go to the settings page, add my piwik
   url and token, click submit.
 * I end up with a 500 server error.
 * I checked the server log, but nothing is logged on this error.
 * I then deactivated network, and activated it on a per site basis.
 * I get the same error.
 * I get the error no matter whether I enter the url to my install [http://mysite.com/piwik](http://mysite.com/piwik)

   or the path /home/mypath/public_html/piwik
 * If I manually add the js to my footer, then piwik works. It is just the plugin
   that does not work.
 * ideas?

 * actually I do have some error logs
 *     ```
       (104)Connection reset by peer: mod_fcgid: error reading data from FastCGI server, referer: http://mysite.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wp-piwik/wp-piwik.php
       Premature end of script headers: options-general.php, referer: http://mysite.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wp-piwik/wp-piwik.php
       ```
 * I don’t know and use FastCGI, so it’s hard to get behind this. I googled for “
   mod_fcgid: error reading data from FastCGI server” and get some hints: timeout
   or to many child processes.
 * WP-Piwik contacts Piwik using HTTP requests. Maybe this will exceed your time
   limit or your process limit?
 * What are you using FastCGI for? Can you disable it (at least for testing)?
 * No I can’t disable FastCGI, it is auto installed on my server and I have never
   had a problem with it before with any script. I just hope the error report helps
   somehow. Obviously I do not need piwik for anything important, it would just
   have been nice to have running is all. No big deal…
