# Invalid post type.

 * Hello, i’m having a problem in wp-admin/edit.php it shows me a screen with Invalid
   post type. also when trying to add new post i can’t see the publish button and
   other options i had before. i tried to deactivate plugins but still the same,
   i have php 7.0.19 and apache 2.4.26. the frontend of the site works fine, also
   i can’t see any errors in error log. i think this issue started after upgrade
   to apache 2.4.26 from 2.4.25 .. but i’m not sure this can be the problem. i also
   tried with php 5.6.30 but that message still shows.
    Any advice? thank you.

 * i also installed a new fresh wordpress test site and i get the same error, so
   it must be related to server php.. or apache somehow 😐

 * Got the same issue after an update off [https://launchpad.net/~ondrej/+archive/ubuntu/apache2?field.series_filter=zesty](https://launchpad.net/~ondrej/+archive/ubuntu/apache2?field.series_filter=zesty)
 * Apache2 updated from 2.4.25 to 2.4.26 and I get “Invalid post type” when listing
   posts. Presumably because the mod_rewrite has changed.
 * I’ll try a recompile.

 * Added “ProxyFCGIBackendType GENERIC” to top of etc/sites-available file

 * @Iprent , yes you’re correct, I figured that out later, forgot to mention this
   here. Unfortunately this generic backend setting broke a site which uses fairly
   complex rewrites, so my solution for now was just reverting to an older Apache
   version until that’s sorted out.
