 * This is just plain flakey. It worked for a brief while then after making some
   changes the target page just started showing only “[wp_blog_designer] Invalid
   shortcode”

 * We cross checked your issue with our blog designer plugin and found that as you
   haven’t selected any blog templates first from blog designer panel and you are
   trying to use blog designer shortcode.
 * Can you please go to blog designer panel and select any layout template to complete
   a missing steps.
