# iPowerweb Upgrade Loses Database

 * My host, iPowerweb, has just upgraded their services and now I get the dreaded“
   can’t contact the database server” error message. Until their “upgrade” my blogs
   were running beautifully. Their support staff has been, shall we say, less than
   helpful.
 * Their “upgrade” has caused a number of other issues, but this one is currently
   the most pressing. Is anyone else having this problem? Have you been able to 
   resolve it?
 * I should probably point out that I know nothing about servers, SQL or programming,
   and run applications by rote. I am admittedly “technologically challenged.”
 * Any help would be appreciated.

   when a mysql upgrade happens 🙁

 * Sorry, I forgot to come back and post.
    It looks like the DNS entry for your 
   MySQL hostname got duplicated in our database during the move to the new datacenter.
 * I took care of it, and all three blogs seem to be okay now.
 * I’ll respond to your support ticket too, so you can e-mail me back directly, 
   in case there’s still issues.
